1. Stay on Track
sums up the album for me, warm, understated but uplifting. A sweet surprise of strings

2. Accidents Happen in the Home
true stories from the frontline, your home - your battlefield

3. Any Fool
love the combination here of bluegrass rhythms and Bach fugue, shouldn’t work but it so does!

4. Try To Save Your Song
maybe I did just rewrite “Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life” but sometimes you have to be your own cheer squad.

5. Something's Right
that feeling of euphoria just before lift off when you can no longer ignore that you’re defying gravity is what Shannon’s string arrangement does for me on this track

6. Sunday Morning
I’ve finally written an uncomplicated love song, no strings attached

7. One Chance
I’ve always loved Gram Parsons album with Emmy Lou Harris, a little homage to that, the Everly Brothers and of course Patsy Cline.

8. Sleepwalker
This piece sounds so honest; a bunch of musicians playing together, you can hear the air move between us. Gerry’s solo is heartbreaking.

9. I Love You But
I’ve finally written an uncomplicated love song, no strings attached (liked it so much the first time I did it again)

10. It Doesn't Work That Way
my duet with Paul Kelly is a discussion of gender roles played out on an Ikea stage

11. Heartache
Of the many layers of melancholy, yearning is one of my favourites

12. Here And Now
grab the moment, howl about it, live it, it will never come around again

Something's Right Film Clip

We shot the clip for Something’s Right in the beautiful faded decadence of The Speigeltent. It seemed appropriate - inhabited as it is by performers, staff and ghosts who are mostly a long way from home. Directed by Alistair Reid
