In 2019 we toured major venues across Australia to present our newest recording The Words of Men, played in its entirety in the first set, alongside the 25th anniversary of Bitch Epic played in its entirety in the second set.
The Words of Men reflects one of the most creative bursts in our 27 year collaboration, traversing a wide range of themes against the backdrop of the strange circumstances we find ourselves in as the 21st century progresses.
Bitch Epic was our first creative output together, it spawned a number of radio hits including Alive & Brilliant, Today I Am A Daisy & Consider This and set the tone for our restless career.
And so the end of Epic has come, our last show was in Mackay. Here we are in the dressing room wearing out tour t-shirts for the first time.
WZ & I want to thank our incredible band The Men – Daniel Farrugia, Hue Blanes & Simon Starr for musical services above and beyond and for just being delightful people to spend the best part of the last 6 weeks with. Not pictured but also an essential part of this happy touring party is the very insouciant Tim West TM & FOH for getting the best sound in circumstances that would defeat his lessers.
And of course without you, our audiences, it would have been a lonely affair, so a massive thank you to everyone who came, who took a chance on listening to The Words Of Men for the first time live, who relived 25 year old memories with Bitch Epic, who clapped & cheered & stood & demanded more & lit up their torches & sang along & came to meet us afterwards for photos & signings & bought stuff while they reminded us of old shows they’d been at, old jokes I told & outfits we wore. Really, truly you were amazing & you had us floating back to our hotel rooms after every show. It has been an honour & a privilege to continue playing music for you. Thank you. And til we meet again stay Alive & Brilliant.
